  • I recently bought a 1953 NAA ford. It has a second lever on the left side next to the PTO lever, I have been
told this is a hand clutch that will stop the wheels but will leave the PTO running. Is this correct? If so must the PTO be engaged for this lever to work?

With almost 129,000 NAA units made is there anyway of knowing how many of these particular NAA units with a second clutch were made?

  • If you look in the Manuals section then go down to parts you will see a live PTO for the NAA owners manual. It is all there, pics and all.

  • The Ford option of the live power was a hydraulically operated drive line clutch. It had a small pump mounted on the hydraulic pump with external supply and return lines. If yours has the pump and lines it is the Ford version.

  • Is this what you seek? Click on the LINK from our MANUALS forum. This was a dealer optional accessory, never a factory installed item, so records would have been kept at each individual dealer outlets of when and where installed and are long gone.
