  • Flush Trans Case
  • I was wondering if I should flush the trans case before refilling everything with new oil? If so, is kerosene what I should use?

  • Diesel is a oily, mineral spirits will clean all the oil residue. Didn't you just replace the pump? Clean chambers?

  • I flushed the pump area; although I think I will drop the pump as I am going to replace the pressure valve and it will be easier to do with the pump out. I didn't flush the transmission and so that is why I am asking about the transmission.

  • Diesel is the usual concoction. Might be cheaper also.
Now if you were close, I might have your rear end.

  • Tim recommends using Mineral spirits instead.

I have the diff housing/rear end but it is sitting in Wayne NJ and not one wants to take the trip up with me and my old Buick scares me driving it that far. My friend said they aren't coming down because of the virus.

  • Well, If you a tad bit closer I might be able to swing you some parts. I would venture to guess someone closer to you might have something cheaper than a cross country trip.
Post a thread looking for an 8N rear end.
    Someone might chime in.

  • Great if you can help with the diffy housing but your response, "I might have your rear end", made me laugh. In these times we have to stay upbeat.
