  • If it is an N-SERIES tractor the engine block serial number was hand stamped on a boss casted on the block near the LH front head, by the oil filter housing. Like this:


    Where are you looking? I suspect you are seeing a casting number on an axle or something.

  • According to the book I'm looking at, Fordson N serial numbers were six figure numbers, no letters, in a range from 747682 in 1929 to 975419 in 1945.
    The letter R beginning your number could indicate a factory refurbished engine.

  • It is a fordson English model was green we believe from the war years number is dependently on block RH side above the magneto
