  • Cut out and polarization
  • Hey Forum Chums
To set this up....non running 2n......new battery....new wiring harness.....all grounds and connections sparkling....cut off relay removed and all connection points wire wheeled to a mirror shine......when I go to polarize the Generator at the cut out.....I barely get a spark....barely noticeable.....not like on my 41...that one sparks like a Lincoln Welder...any thoughts....something seems to be amiss with the strength of the spark arc in the polarization process!

  • HiYa Ed- Hope ya'll are safe and healthy.

Did you test the new battery for a full sustainable charge and specific gravity level? Even a new battery can be junk out of the door. Does everything work fine? Does the AMMETER show a + charge when running? Does generator have a belt tensioning device? If the wiring is all correct and all runs fine, relax, should be fine. A cutout signifies a 6V/POS GRN setup as you know. A weak arc-spark probably means the system is A-OK. Maybe JMOR, Bruce(VA), or Soundguy can chime in.
