  • Dearborn Back Blade Cutting Edge
  • Does anyone know a source for getting a new cutting edge for a 6' Dearborn back blade?

  • Stop by your local Highway Department or City Street Department depot and ask they where they get the cutting blades for their grader blades. Then contact those folks and they will make you a cutting edge that will bolt up. I have done before, just know your length, number of holes and measurements from center to center of each hole.

  • I have two Dearborn Utility Blades and years ago I bought a new replacement blade for one of them but I never installed it, and still have it in the barn. I do not recall where I got it but there are places that sell new blades. You won't find an exact Dearborn replacement blade and the bolt hole patterns will be different, so plan on some grunt work modifying. Optional method is to take the OEM blade to a good Amish blacksmith and have him revamp it. Hope this helps...

  • Your local steel yard will sell wear edge in different sizes.
They will cut it to length for a fee. Then rent a mag drill and drill your own holes.
I know most wear edge uses plow bolts but carriage bolts would do the job and look okay.

  • Yeah, i was thinking about that. But would they do a bolt on? I really don't want one welded one.

  • My local shop will. All they have to do is punch the holes if that is what you want. You will of course pay for that service.
