  • Back to the Old Hokie again
  • Good morning Old Hokie,I ordered all the parts you recommended.I'm sure I'll not have a problem with the pump drive shaft, the tractor has the 5/8" drive shaft,if not I'm sure I can fabricate something to adapt it.As for the hose fittings as soon as I get all this stuff and get it mounted I taking the whole thing to a local shop that makes Hydraulic hoses and have them made on the spot,That way I don't have to make a bunch of measurements and hope everything fits when I get them home, all together there are like 14 or 15 hoses on this thing and all of the ones I have from both of these old loaders are a bunch of mish mosh old cracked and scary looking junk, one more potential problem eliminated (this a working tractor) don't need or want a hose blowing out in the middle of a job. Thanks again and God Bless, Beth and Allen.

  • Please be careful Allen,

I was not "recommending" specific parts - the links were offered as examples of what is available and not a specific recommendation. Before ordering anything you need to look at the specifics of your application and match them to the specifics of the items you order.

As luck would have it the pump I linked is counter-clockwise and has a straight keyed shaft but that was in fact pure chance. It should work for you but I cannot guarantee that. It could have just as easily been clockwise with a splined shaft and would not have worked.

I will be happy to offer specific recommendations but to do that I need the details of what you have on the loader. For example I would have guessed your driveshaft was 3/4 inch not 5/8 and told you to get a coupler along with the pump. I am also guessing that the 5/8" coupler you have will not have the correct (5/32) keyway for the new pump. There are lots of details that need to be visited before ordering parts.

    TOH

  • P/S,
  • Old Hokie you are a life saver on this,I've not had very much experience with hydraulics. I've put a lot of work into this tractor and loader over the past 2 years (health issues slowed me down) so I want this thing to work as well as it now looks. I disassembled the tractor 2 years ago and cleaned and sand blasted almost everything repaired, replaced and repainted everything. After this done I have an old hay rake, an old rotary cutter an old snow plow attachment and an augher that I'm going to redo and repaint. They all still work so each piece will be redone on the off season for each one so I can use them when I need them. God Bless, Beth and Allen.
