  • WM3Loader project
  • My son has an NAA that I sold to him about 10 years ago (lost money on that deal). Any way, we are going to mount a Wagner WM3 loader on it.
Before we do that we are changing out the transmission for one that I have with a Hupp combination transmision. We have mounted the trans. on an engine stand to look it over and clean it out. Any suggestions on what I should look for as possible problem?
Then we will make the swap.
While doing the swap I am insisting that we do a new clutch plate, pressure plate and throw out bearing, maybe the pilot bushing in the crank.
Before the loader goes on, I am insisting that he buy a new water pump, thermostat, hoses and v-belt. He started getting upset until I told him that I would NOT help replace any of that after the loader goes on. I explained why.
    OH! ok.
Any suggestions or observations that might keep us out of trouble? LOL

  • We degreased and power washed the NAA and have stripped it down in preparation of pulling out the transmision. While at it, we are rebuilding the front axle assembly, checking the governor assembly and installing a new front seal, replacing the water pump and associated parts.
As we reassemble, we are installing new clutch parts and all new gaskets as needed.
Once that is back together, we will rebuild the rear axle as needed especially brakes.
This evening we placed an order with Just8ns, $500+, not including any rear axle/brake parts until we get a look at them.
While we are this deep, any recommendations for other things that may need attention?
The engnine is strong and does not smoke, starts good and has good oil pressure.
ps I said in my original post that the loader is a Wagner WM3. It is the WF3. DUH

  • Yup. I have the manual printed and The Old Hokie or anyone is welcome to chime in.
I have pulled many N's in half over the years. Wedges for the front axle to bolster, wheeled trailer tongue jack to support the rear end, and various techniques of disconnecting "things". We are making a list of items to be replaced while we are at it.
    Go slow, avoid injury.
