A GREAT DAY!
Beautiful, sunny, mild day. Temps in mid 50's, great for working outside. And great it was.
First, I finished cleaning out the homade sprayer, purging the hoses and tank of some debris. Then I installed new nozzles (4). I then tested my setup for pressure and pattern. Yipee! I'm ready to attack the dandelions soon!
Second, I wanted to get my '47 and '45 2Ns out of the barn for some exercise. Neither had been out in a year.
The 47 needed a battery. Ah, my son's NAA is in my garage in 3 sections waiting for parts from Just8Ns. His battery is sitting there saying "use me". I did!
This 2N has a verticle and very throaty exhaust. It also has a Sherman step-up trans. Let it rip down the road. Yahoo! I do need to work on the brakes. ps This tractor has both brake pedals on the right. A previous owner made the modification.
The 45 wanted to start but refused to run. I pulled the carb and blew it out and installed a new gasket. Settings made. She started and stumbled but with about 1/3 choke, ran smooth. I will pull the plugs tomorrow and check spark. I'll go forward from there.
My 1940 is saying what about me? Hang on, let's see what tomorrow brings.
Meantime, I have a 9N in the barn waiting for a hydraulic pressure relief valve. I expect it in the mail tomorrow or Wednesdaay from Just8Ns. The oil is drained and the pto shaft ready to pull. Too hard to bend my old bones in the inspection plates.
In the meantime, I stopped and talked to my neighbor out mowing his lawn. He talked about trying to sell his NAA. Hmmmmmmmmm! Maybe?
Too much fun? Naaaa!
