  • Piston Connecting Rod numbers
  • I need to replace one of my connection rods to my 2n tractor, The rod has USA B3 on one side and 9n on the other. Can someone please explain to me wha the Number B3 stands for? On ebay they have the rods, but the numbers on the rod are different, B8, 23., Do I need to be concerned about the numbers when purchasing a replacement. Please advise, Thank you

  • Probably just a manufacturing code-some rods were made in Canada and others in USA. All should probably work. Tim Daily can chime in on this one I'm sure.

  • After sleeping on it the Bxx may have been a reference to the factory balance values. Rods were balanced in sets so any new rod should be compared to originals in a shop equipped to perform such work (most auto machine shops). Should not be expensive to have this done and rods rematched.
