  • Draining the block
  • Is it sufficient to open the petcock on the radiator or should you remove a hose? It has gotten down to -27 here in central Oregon

  • Petcock will drain much of the coolant. What are you doing at -27??? Flushing the system??? Be sure to install a thermostat.

  • I have horses...... I set a warning at -25 to go check on them. When it went off in the dead of night (3 am) I got dressed went down to the barn (1/4 mile ). And there were no horses! They were all out in the weather, smoking cigarettes, playing poker etc. so I walked up to my lead horse and he looked at me like ďwhat are you doing here? Itís cold,Ē I put me hand under his fore limb and he was toasty warm.....go figure. My 2Ns sit in the barn all winter and I was wondering if it was better to drain the blocks.....havenít done that before but Iím open to best practices.
