  • What oil filter gasket will fit the main drain plug on my 1950 8n? Was told I could use a oil filter gasket to fit main drain plug but not really sure if that's right. Thanks

  • The Ford Tractor Oil Drain Plug, p/n 8N-6734, is used on all models from '39 - '64 -click on LINK below. Get the quality cork style, not the lousy rubber style, those will pinch. Be sure to get all the old gasket material cleaned of the plug surface and the pan mounting surface. Oil drain plug, p/n 9N-6730, has the screen assembly attached which the oil pump pickup tube & cover, p/n 9N-6615, fits into to help filter out debris in the oil. Apply light clean, fresh oil onto gasket surface before tightening down. Avoid overtightening.

  • Look at the size of the oil filter.

Now look at the size of the drain plug.

I think someone was jerking your chain.

    Make one as JMOR said,
