  • 2n three point hitch
  • IT'S ALIVE!
    my first ford tractor
tuned up, fresh oil, rebuilt carb, fresh coolant.
starts on first revolution of engine.
    drained fluid in trans,diff,hydraulics.
refilled with fresh fluid from tsc.
my question is does hitch need the weight of an implement to lower?
arms went up smoothly but cant get them to go down.
looked in operators manual but didnt see anything that answered that for me.
    Thank you.

  • No - they will come down on their own. Sounds like your control valve is sticking.

    Thank you for the response.
is that a major job to fix?

  • Sometimes they can be unstuck by working the valve by hand through one of the side inspection covers. If it keeps sticking you will have to remove the pump to clean it. That is a weekend project.
