  • Hi purchased a used input shaft for my 1948 8n need help figuring out the right part # for the bering and seal and if the input shaft is complete

  • I assume you are referring to the input shaft for the transmission. The Ford numbers are:

    Seal, 8N 7052-A
    Bearing (engine side of gear), 9N 7066
    Cup (engine side of gear), 9N 7067
    Bearing (transmission side of gear), 9N 7120

    That being said, there are likely manufacturer part numbers on the parts themselves that any place that sells bearings and seals can cross over to equivalent brands. Seals can easily be located based on inside diameter, outside diameter, and thickness.

    Also, on this site under the Manuals tab is a 1949 parts manual that will show you all the part numbers and exploded views for all assemblies of the tractor (see link).
