Re: What is this light
I canít open your LINK so canít see any photos, but the first early 9Nís, til s/n 25000 used an Ignition ĎONí Lamp located just below the AMMETER on the lower LH dash panel. The Ignition Key Switch was also located on the RH dash panel. There are many other early 9N parts that may or may not still be original on your tractor Ėsnap-in battery cover; aluminum horizontal bar grille, 4-spoke steering wheel; double ribbed fenders, small ĎBí GEN and more. Your 9N may have been switched over to 12V so if your battery is 12V and you have an alternator, it would have fried the 6V bulb a long time ago. Go to the LINK below to learn more about the Nís and also in our MANUALS forum you can find all the 9N Master Parts Catalogs and download copies for yourself Ėtheyíre free. The very first early 9N MPC is the March 15, 1940 version. If your dash lamp has been painted over, itís possible that it has been rewired and no longer works or the lamp itself is burned out. The OEM ignition lamp is NLA (No Longer Serviced) meaning parts are no longer available, except you can get the bulb so if all the rest of the socket is intact, may just have a burnt bulb. The MPCís only list the dash lamp assembly as p/n 9N-3702, with no other individual parts except the lens, p/n 9N-3701, the wire, 9N-13603, and the Bulb, p/n B-13466. This is the same bulb that is used in the TAURUS taillight, industry standard #63. Like I said if your system is now 12V and you want to try the lamp, get a #67 (12V) bulb. Start here for more info and if you want more help, my email is open.
