Sorry, this question may have been asked many times but I didn't see any answers in the archives. I just bought a pair 11x28 C5NN1050E rims. Can I put 11.2 tires on them or do they have to be 12.4??? Thanks...

OEM Ford N-Series rear hat rims were 9" x 28", supplied by Kelsey-Hayes. The tires were 10 x 28. The dimensions then were measured from the inside on both. The 10 x 28 tire is the SAME as an 11.2 x 28 now. 11.2 is the dimension when measured from the outside which is how they measure them now. Now you can get a 9", 10" and 11" 6-Loop aftermarket rim. A 12.4 tire will mount on a 10" or 11" rim. Cal Ed at Miller Tire and ask him -see LINK below.

You can put the 11.2 tires on an 11 inch rim. Most people would use a 9 or 10 inch rim for 11.2 tires. My brother put 11.2 tires on 11 inch rims and he liked the way they looked. I like to go with a smaller rim so the rubber is out past the rim enough to help protect the rim from getting damaged.
