  • Lower Lift Arm Leak 2N
  • The lower lift link gasket appears to be leaking on my 2N. It looks like to replace the gasket, part number 523 in the second image below, just remove the link arm, the link pin (part number 563), the nut on the stud, and part number 562. Is this correct? I know the pin also has a cotter pin on it, so that would have to be removed to removed along with the nut that holds the pin on.

  • Terry I just cleaned the area good with brake clean and put on two applications of The Right Stuff
and there is no more leak. Down the road I will fix it right.

  • Barry, thanks. I thought of that as a temporary fix myself.

  • Cotter pin is on the inside, so you have to remove the trumpet to get to it. If you remove the left trumpet, you can remove the differential to get to the pin on the right side.

I remove the wheel before I remove the trumpet and axle. Some on this site remove the wheel and trumpet as one. Need some type of hoist to do that.

  • I needed a hoist to remove the trumpet/axle as well. You could probably build a stand on a dolly at the proper height and then unbolt the trumpet and just slide it out and away; leave it on the stand. Then just wheel it back in place. You wouldn't want to drop the trumpet and crack it; then it is replacement time. Of course you men may be strong enough to just muscle it out and back in.
