Here's a scan of the original template you got with a lighting kit for the light switch hole on the dash. Also, a picture of an 8N dash with hole drilled for light switch. Light kits were available from your dealer and either they installed them or you could do it yourself. Marv Baumann told me he has seen a few dashes where there is dimple on that mark. Most light switches I have seen are on the lower left side of the dash near the key switch. Later, they were mounted on the right side voltage regulator bracket.
