What is it?
Hi, I started replacing the electrical system and wrote down the serial number, here goes. 9N IbI553 and a star, (yep eyes and a bee)John Smith's ID page mentions tractors from europe, is this possible?

John, looks like you have a 1944 2N there, based on the serial number. As long as it's the original engine (not swapped in from a 2N), that's what you've got. Hope this helps............Ed '52 8N475798

Ford used I to stand for 1, b stands for 6, stars mean it has steel sleeves. The tractors from Europe John Smith is talking about are the serial numbers that begin with 9NAN or 8NAN. These tractors are kerosene burning versions that were produced in the US but are more common in Europe. Jonas '46 2N(201373) '50 8N(337275)

There were a lot of 9NAN and 8NAN's sold right here in the good old USA. I have the manual supplement that came with our neighbors 8NAN in 1950. Most NAN's were sold in the prairie States and Provinces, not exported.
