  • Interchangable brake pedals
  • Does anyone know when they stopped using the same brake pedals for right and left? I have seen some '40s with the different brake pedal. Would that have stopped using them in '39? When was the change over?

    Thanks, Kirk

  • I sure don't want to start any arguements just hope someone chimes in. A Ford collector mentioned to me once that the "hump" in the left brake pedal is so a person can reach down with left hand grab the hump and then lift up to apply the left brake. Was he pulling my leg?

  • The left brake pedal is over further and they added the "hump" to reduce the chance of slipping off the brake pedal and sticking your foot into the moving left rear tire. The change was made in 1941.
