When did the 3 spoke steering wheel first appear?

Once I resolve these two issues I'll be happy with Maude's restoration. Well except for them pesky decals LOL.

1940 Ford *9N3598I* 1993 Ford Explorer 1998 Chevy Silverado

I'm not positive this is correct so some one might tell me I'm wrong but I believe they started making the steel grille with the '41 grille. They started making them 11-15-1940 to 3-10-1941. This grille had the solid bar down the middle. This was a production date so I don't know if they were actually used on the late '40. Most were found on early '41s. My early '41 has the original grille.
In '41 they had a three spoke steering wheel. I believe it was unlike the typical 3 spoke. It was solid and didn't have the the steel bars showing. The change could have happen in the late '40 year but I'm not sure. My '41 has that steering wheel but I believe it may be a reproduction.
