This historical tractor production information was sent by Mr. Harold Brock to Dusty Barkley at Just 8N's. Dusty had met Mr. Brock and Mr. Brock knew that the Barkley boys were restoring a 1939 9N. He sent this to encourage Dusty's further interest in N tractors:

An incredible timeline; within 2 months of starting the project a sample the 1st sample tractor is complete. Amazing work! That is with out the aid of computers, CAD programs, & previous designs for comparison. Must of had very good guidance to say on track. What a great time!

That is really cool info! Too bad we don't have access to all of the late Mr. Brock's archives. Based on the above information, my neighbors 9N257 was built in July 1939.

Also based on Mr. Brock's info the first s/n for each month of 1939 is listed below:

A few weeks ago, a guy on YT claimed to have a letter from Ford (TSB?) that came in a manual he bought on ebay. The letter gave the first s/n by month for the entire 8N production run. I sent him an email and offered to pay him for a copy of that. No response.
