Re: 1939 Henry Ford Tractor Patent
That thing really looks outdated compared to the N. Why do you suppose he was pantenting on that drawing? Jeff

Re: 1939 Henry Ford Tractor Patent
After reading it I get the impression that Mr. Ford had several good ideas for a tractor but for whatever reason (production cost maybe) didn't carry them out and went with the 9N instead. I emailed the claim to you (hope you don't mind) so that you can read it. I thought it was very interesting. Farmer Dan *9N3597I*

Re: 1939 Henry Ford Tractor Patent
I've tried everything I can think of. Can't email it to you, can't reduce it enough to post it here. Here is a link to where I got it: http://patimg1.uspto.gov/.piw?Docid=02231710&homeurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpatft.uspto.gov%2Fnetacgi%2Fnph-Parser%3FSect1%3DPTO1%2526Sect2%3DHITOFF%2526d%3DPALL%2526p%3D1%2526u%3D%25252Fnetahtml%25252FPTO%25252Fsrchnum.htm%2526r%3D1%2526f%3DG%2526l%3D50%2526s1%3D2231710.PN.%2526OS%3DPN%2F2231710%2526RS%3DPN%2F2231710&PageNum=&Rtype=&SectionNum=&idkey=NONE&Input=View+first+page You will have to go to the "HELP" section and it will walk you through how to view it. Sorry I can't think of a better way to do this.

Re: 1939 Henry Ford Tractor Patent
Thanks Dan...I used your link & downloaded some simple TIFF software. That must have been the problem moving the files. No problems after that. Jeff

Re: 1939 Henry Ford Tractor Patent
This patent is about an construction for raising and lowering a whole tractor. The base of the tractor is clearly a Fordson N. This idea, I have not found on any ford(son).
