  • Hey Dan-
    If you enjoyed that book, here's a list of my favorite books:

    1. The Fords In My Past -by Harold Brock ( chief tractor engineer from 1939-1959...excellent book! )

    2. My Forty Years With Ford -Charles E. Sorensen
    ( Ford's right hand man )

    3. We Never Called Him Henry -Harry Bennett ( Ford's thug )

    4. The Legend Of Henry Ford -Keith Sward
    ( very good history book )

    5. FORD -The Men And The Machine -Robert Lacey
    ( mostly about the rise and fall of Henry II )

    6. The Firestone Story -Alfred Lief
    ( another good history book on one of Henry's buddies )

    7. Tractor Pioneer: The Life Of Harry Ferguson -by Colin Fraser
    ( one of my favorites- good history book too )

    8. Ferguson Implements & Accessories -John Farnworth
    ( Lists several 8N implements also -good reference book with pictures too! )

    9. The History Of Old Time Farm Implement Companies and the Wrenches They Issued -by P.T. Rathbone
    ( whew! what a title but a good bed stand or coffee table read - No Ford tools listed here but then that's why we belong to NAFTCO )

    Also, some good videos out there -see Don Powley and his ForWorkMa Productions 16MM to video tapes.

    For the Ferguson crowd try:

    Ferguson On The Farm Part One
    &
    Ferguson On The Farm Part Two -by Harold Beer and Suart Gibbard.
    ( Very good actual demonstrations by Harold Beer on his farm in England of many Fergsuon implements used on the Ferguson TE Tractor. People forget that after the split from Ford, Harry produced his own tractor [TE20 and TO20] with the TO, for Tractor Overseas, being mmanufactured right in Detroit alongside the new Ford 8N. Talk about competition! Because Harry and his new business did so well actually hurt him in his lawsuit against Ford. Many implements were still made by the same vendors that made them for him under Ford. The videos have very good explanations and narration by Stuart Gibbard )

    Don't forget the Peterson and Beemer books on N-Series Tractors and Ford Farm Implements.

  • Here's a good book all about Henry Ford II -not but a few sentences dealing with tractors, but a good history book of what happened after grandpa died and he took over the Ford Empire.

    "Never Complain, Never Explain-The Story Of Henry Ford II"
    by Victor Lasky
    Richard Marek Publishers, New York
    ISBN 0-399-90104-3

    Also, there is a new book from Robert Pripps, "The Big Book Of Ford Tractors-The Complete Model-By-Model Encyclopedia" with Mr. Harold Brock providing a lot of contributing information and Andrew Morland once again with his great pictures. I have not seen this yet---Santa??? you out there???

    Finally, if you missed the Penfield, IL F/FCA show back in July, here is a DVD or VHS video available from the banquet with Mr. Harold Brock's talk and Q & A ---70 plus minutes!!!

    VHS = $25.00
    DVD = $20.00
    add $4.00 for S&H and enclose a self-addressed LABEL and send to:
    F/FCA
    PO Box 470
    Mahomet, IL 61853

    -Merry Christmas
