  • As Ed said, the Economy Plow replaced the earlier Dearborn Moldboard (Prior Model) Plow beginning in 1950. The Economy Plow came in various models with the 10-151 as the 10" model; the 10-152 the 12" model; and the 10-156 as the 14" model. You can't get parts any more for the earlier Moldboard plows but the Dearborn Economy plow 10-156 (14")model still has wear parts sold at most tractor supply houses and AG dealers. The 10-156 Economy Plow is a good investment and they work great. Check out our MANUALS forum for Operating and Parts manuals.

  • It's what is known as the "Economy" plow because the "Prior Model" plow that it replaced did not have replaceable shares. It was introduced during the 8N model period - I think in 1951. Here's a page from a 1951 dealer ad brochure that describes the "new" Economy plow bottoms:

Here's a scan of an original invoice that came with my '52 8N that shows that the customer purchased a 10-156 Economy plow as part of the package:

Our Manuals / Plows library has much more info on this model plow.

  • Ed - Thanks for the information. It's very helpful. Can you tell me more about the Love disc harrow listed on your invoice??? I have what I've been told is a love disc but haven't been able to find any information on it. I will post some pictures later today.

  • My harrow as manufactured by Love Tractor, Inc / Love Lift Tools of Eau Claire, Michigan. I still use mine every year. I've got parts manuals for couple models - can post in our Manuals library if needed. Do you know the model of yours?

Here's a top view of mine:

  • Ed - Thanks for the picture. The disc I have is a tube disc and I can't find a tag on it. I posted some pictures in a separate posting.
