8N Ford Production Changes - Excel Spreadsheet
Tim Daley was kind enough to lend me some of his documentation to scan and share. Part of it was a 4-page, typed summary of production changes made to the 8N between July 1947 and September 1950. The thing was a bear to OCR, but I finally got enough of it in a Word document to then copy and paste to an Excel spreadsheet. You will need MS Excel to update this or their free reader to read it, if you don't have MS Office or Excel installed on your PC. If any of you find errors or omissions, please feel free to post here and I will update the spreadsheet as we learn more. Click here to download it. Thanks Tim!!

Re: 8N Ford Production Changes - Excel Spreadsheet
Randy.....would you mind looking up when Ford changed the rear fender braces [16312] from the round hole to the square hole for the fender bolts.I tink this happened sometime in 1948 or early 49.Thanks, don b

Re: 8N Ford Production Changes - Excel Spreadsheet
Don...don't know if this helps, but my *8N 4778* has the square holes. The various tractor casting dates range from 8-22-47 to 9-3-47. Jeff

Re: 8N Ford Production Changes - Excel Spreadsheet
Jeff....since the "square holes" did not come out until after 1-1-48, I would suspect your fenders have been changed.Sounds like your tractor was born in Sept.1947.Thanks for the reply. don b

Re: 8N Ford Production Changes - Excel Spreadsheet
Don, there have been cases where changes are made at the plant and sometime later Engineering gets around to updating the drawings. I could not say for sure that this was not started in 1947, from what I know today.

Re: 8N Ford Production Changes - Excel Spreadsheet
The fender lower support drawing shown on 9N-16312-A was changed from .66 DIA to .66 SQUARE on 1/48. When this actually changed in production is unknown at this time. Perhaps implementation date is shown on archived change records, which I do not have.
