  • 1939 Tractor production
  • Ok guys and gals......here is the straight scoop on tractor production directly from Mr. Harold Brock[chief engineer].This info is from his records,not memory.This info is awesome to me and I hope this will help all.Tyler, in my opinion this info needs to go to the History page.
    Tractors produced per month for the first seven months:
    June 1939 = 77
    July = 263
    Aug. = 641
    Sept.= 1011
    Oct. = 2036
    Nov. = 2821
    Dec. = 3461

    Total June to Dec. 28,1939 = 10,310 tractors.
    I also have production numbers up May,16,1944 if anyone would like.

  • Re: 1939 Tractor production
  • I filled in the yearly production, but most information fits with the books:
    JAN.1,1940=10,234
    FEB.28,1940=20,000TH
    APRIL 10,1940=30,000TH
    SEPT.24,1940=40,000TH

    JAN.1,1941=45,976
    FEB.19,1941=50,000TH
    APR.28,1941=60,000TH
    JUNE 2,1941=70,000TH
    OCT.13,1941=80,000TH
    DEC. 1,1941=90,000TH

    JAN.1,1942=88,888 This is not fitting the info.
    OCT. 19,1942=100,000TH

    JAN.1,1943=105,375
    FEB.26,1943=110,000TH
    NOV. 19,1943=120,000TH

    JAN.1,1944=126,538
    JAN.21,1944=130,000TH
    MAR.15,1944=140,000TH
    MAY 16,1944=150,000TH

    Keep up the good work very interesting.

  • Paul, I've seen some sources that show 88888 as the first s/n of 1942, but I've seen several other sources that give the first s/n of '42 as 99003 which would fit Mr. Brock's list.

  • Re: 1939 Tractor production
  • From Ford Tractors own data the first 1942 S/N was 88,934.

  • Interesting.........guess we'll never know for sure but I'd be inclined to go with Mr. Brocks records over FoMoCo.

  • I really do not understand why one would make that choice. Ford Tractors production records were published in numerous places and are quite concise.

  • If you have production numbers by the month, I'd love to have that information. I have a Ford parts manual that gives monthly production of the x01 and early 4 cyl Thousand series, but not anything earlier.
