I visited a retired Ford dealer who has completely restored the fourth from the last 8N produced. He recently sent 15 rebuilt engines to Australia. I think he told me air freight for each one was $550.

Every time I see something in print purporting to be the "last" serial number of anything, someone always pipes up and says he has one with a number higher than that. I have a hard believing anyone knows for sure what the last serial number was.

Just out of curiosity, what is the s/n on your friend's tractor? I'd be interested to see if anyone here can top it. Also, I'd be very curious to know what all the date codes are on that machine: rear axles, carb tag, hyd pump, engine block, and any others you can find.
