  • In checking my prints on the implement light bulb again and again and again, this is my version of the story:
The implement light was first introduced in 1949.The bulb lens was "frosted" with 8 rings, which looked sorta like a "bullseye".The part number was 8n15514.These lights were used from 1949-1953 with the "bullseye" lens. The bulb lens prints were changed from the "bullseye" to the "dimple"style lens on 7-10-1953.I do not know when it went into production tho.So, this info tells me that I have been WRONG on the lens and Dennis Carpenter got his info from me, and that ALL ORIGINAL 8N AND 1953IMPLEMENT LIGHTS HAD THE FROSTED BULLSEYE LENS.[8N15514][1949-1953]
The reason we are seeing 8n15514 lens with the "dimples" are because they were made after 7-10-1953 and were used as a service item for prior lights and up to and including the 12v era.The 12v light lens FDF 15514 WAS the same light and "dimple" lens as the late 8n15514 execpt the bulb was 12v.Any comments are most welcome. don b
