Odd wheel hub
OK all you tractor experts out there in N-Tractor land I am in need of some information concerning my 1953 Golden Jub. While I had my front tires and rims off for tire replacement I noted that my wheel hubs are not the same.. One side has a hub that will not quite reach the axle base, while the other side has a hub that not only is longer, but has a zerk fitting for lubing the bearings. The hub with the zerk will come within the thickness of a piece of paper from touching the axle base, while the shorter one comes within a quarter inch of touching the axle base. Any help is appreciated.. Joe NAA 55762

A thought
I had a hub on one 8N that never seemed to fit right, kinda like that. When I took it apart I found that the inner bearing race wasn't in place on the spindle where it should be. Once I cleaned up the spindle and re-greased everything it slipped into place just fine. just an idea.......

Re: A thought
LeeMoo: Thank you for the interest. However both of the hubs had their races seated down on the ridges. In order to be sure of my tractors'needs, I ordered a pair of new hubs from a Ford NAA store in Andalusia, AL. The hubs arrived today and they fit perfect.. I now have to sell the used hubs on E-Bay. Re: A thought
At least now you don't need to wonder or worry about them.
