different i-beam radius rods
I have a 40 9n ser no. 24xxx and a 44 2n ser no. 126xxx. I noticed yesterday that the i-beam radius rods are different. The 40's rods are square next to the ball. The 44's are rounded so that the top I curves in a half circle to blend in with the bottom I, so it looks like a U on its side with the bottom of the U next to the ball. Does anybody know what year they changed ? I must have looked these tractors over a hundred times and never noticed the difference before. Enjoy

Re: different i-beam radius rods
ButtonRock: I'll check the radius rods on my 1944 serial # 160711. Picture to follow when I can. Maybe your rods are from a Fergusion. Mind are original, my Father bought the 2N new and they have never been changed. Regards, AL CT Al Sandholm

Re: different i-beam radius rods
Al, thanks for the pics. I don't think fergy's came with i-beam radius rods. At least I cannot find a picture of one. It is definately two distint castings. Maybe little differences like this are more common than I thought. Enjoy the day
