Though I would post a pic of the early style top link. There isn't much to say about it except it has two bolt holes.

Kelly: Thanks for the pic. I bought one of these on E-Bay to put on my '39 9N4394 when I get it all restored. The problem is that the one I bought is too shot to ever use it for any real work. The ball on one end is way loose and I would not trust it for much. Is there any way to tighten one of these up?

Heres the set of arms I tightened up for my 2m. Cut about 1/8" out, angle ground, heated and closed the gap, welded back in and ground to orginal profile. They are much better now and not real noticible. I doubt anyone would notice unless I told them. They are not exactly round anymore on the outside

Bob, yes there is. You can cut these and reweld if they are not too bad. Or you can replace with a new end. Either way they will look O.K.
