  • I posted this on the main board and then remembered that I probably should have asked over here, so pardon the repetition, but I am interested in finding as answer just to satisfy my curiousity.

There are 2 1945 2N's for sale locally, and looking at them has raised a question to which I haven't found an answer. One tractor has the standard air cleaner, and the other has the vertical, through the hood, extension. The question is, was the extended air intake a factory option? I've seen it on a '41 9N, so I assume that it was a fairly early option in any case. Anyone know anything at all about the history there?

  • By 1945 there had been about 3 different air cleaners. The closed tops were bad about stopping up. The through the hood air cleaner top solved this problem. Yes there was a option for the through the hood top.
