don b's Halloween post quoted his prints as giving Date of Manufacture codes as month/year in a number/letter form. Nobody told my old (possibly 1944) starter. At 6 o'clock closest to the clutch housing is stamped "Ford" in script followed by "Y4" in a bit larger than normal font. At 10 o'clock (sitting in the seat reference point) is "A5CC" or it could be "A500." Below that is "45330." The case has 3 real thin bands or rings stamped/scratched into it. One ring at a quarter inch from the end, one at half inch, and the third at 5/8 inch. Not sure this adds to or subtracts from the research on starter geneology. Russ

Re: Starter

Re: Starter
Thank you, don. What puzzizzled me was your reference to a "number/letter" format and the "letter/number" on mine. Russ
