Subject: Honda customer service.

  • Honda customer service.
  • My nephew attends University of Hartford under a baseball scholarship. Playing Baseball in the Hampton's, NY (summer league) this summer. Needed a car to move around so my Brother in law purchased a 2017 Civic hatchback for his use. This is where the problem starts, when it rains it leaks badly around the windshield. Numerous calls to Honda have resulted in total frustration and anger. At this point Honda refuses to even talk repairing the problem. They want my brother in law to have insurance company replace the windshield. Sounds like insurance fraud to be. When he called corporate office, they refused to connect him to a supervisor, operator told him "that'll never happen", was very rude and finally hung up.
    Has anyone else had this experience with Honda????

  • Never bought / owned any vehical except American (supposedly)made and when in warrenty I always took it to the dealer I purchased it from for warrenty service.No problem.If I were to receive this kind of runaround I would take my vehical to the dealer and park it on state right of way and put a large sign on it stating it was crap as was the service.I believe you would get some service real quick.

  • Charles is exact!y right, it is all up to and about your dealer. When a dealer gives me the run around, I let them know about it in no uncertain terms. When I am done speaking my peace, the manager and all the people in and within 100 feet of the show room, know exactly what is going on...

  • Similar story happened to a friend. He got no where on warranty work. He waited until the showroom was full of prospective customers, walked in and in a very loud voice asked, "Is everyone here crooks, poor customer service and I'm frustrated with this dealer, everyone wanting to purchase a car here should think twice". Customers looked around, next thing the service manager walked out and tried to usher friend away. He refused to move, dealership manager came out. Guess what? Problem solved and warranty work done on the spot. Maybe it pays off being a loud mouth.
    Unfortunately brother in law is on the west coast, car purchased/located in NY.
    His frustration continues.

  • I'm on Long Island, what dealer is he dealing with? My next question has the windshield been replaced? You guys are correct, making noise on a busy Saturday afternoon showroom floor is one of way of quick help for a problem. File paper for lemon law, if this car was bought new. Geez CSI is so important to dealers.

  • Dealer is in Brewster, NY. Problem is the lemon law will apply only if they try 4 times to correct the issue. Honda is refusing to do anything. Car was at a dealer on Long Island (where my nephew is playing summer ball) for the problem. They vacuumed the water out, gave my nephew a bill. At this point in time, Honda will not even talk to the brother in law. On top of all this, a body panel under the car fell off, they were forced to pay to have it reattached. Honda would not release the car until the bill was paid.
    My nephew is leaving the car with us while he returns home in Calif for August before returning to the University of Hartford in Sept. I may try taking it to a dealer some 30 miles from me to see if they'll do anything.
    It all sucks.

  • I'm thinking it must be the dealer. Try contacting Honda
    I had two Suburu cars to blow head gaskets under warranty. They charged me for plugs, anti-freeze, oil and filter. Said only the gasket was covered. I had a Honda blow a head gasket 30 mile out of town. I drove it home. The dealer said the water got into the cylinders and oil pan and the whole engine had to be rebuilt. All I got was a Thank You and come back to see us. It didn't cost me a cent. I have owned Hondas since 1975 and my wife will not own anything else. A couple of recalls have also been taken care of fast and efficiently.

  • No Wonder he has so many problems!! It's one of those Super Super "RARE" Honda TundraPickups! LOL FYI Honda doesn't make a Tundra Pickup! That's TOYOTA!
