  • Pictures of meteorite
  • Here is a couple pictures of the meteorite I was talking about in the previous thread. It is a piece of the Canyon Diablo IAB Iron that fell about three miles west of Meteor Crater just outside of Winslow AZ.

  • I have taken some time to think about your response but still not sure what it means. One inference might be: a connection to an old movie? If so, I would like to know more about it. I like old movies if it is what I am thinking. Maybe I could call it up on YouTube.

  • It's a classic line from The Eagles song, "Take It Easy" from the early 70''s the rest:

"...well I'm standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona and such a fine sight to see.
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford slowing down to take a look at me...Take It Easy..."

It was written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey. I was never an Eagles fan despite knowing the Frey family -Glen was from my nearby town of Royal Oak, MI. This was their first hit but was the only song I really liked by them. Jackson Browne plays banjo on it -listen to the outro and you'll hear it. The tune has been covered by many others, some country fellers as well.

  • Okay, that didn't go as planned so I will just attach the links to the IMGUR files for this one. I need to figure out how to add pics from IMGUR.

  • I would love to get my hands on one so I could make a knife out of it.

  • I have seen knives made out of iron meteorites but in this case, making one out of a Canyon Diablo iron would make for a rather Xpensive knife me thinks.
