  • R & R Hall
  • Not that it means anything, but the Rock N' Roll H-O-F announced their candidates and WTF is Bon Jovi doing on the list??? Really???? Who decide these things? Millenniums probably or Rolling Stone lib punk employees I'm sure. The Moody Blues are on the list too. Again, WTF? Why aren't they already in??? One of the greatest British rock bands from the 60's and just now being nominated? WTF?

Being a veteran of rock bands since I was 15, playing since I was 9, there is a huge difference between rock n' roll and bubble gum pop. It's like what Dennis Leary once said, " ...Stevie Ray Vaughan is dead and we can't get Jon Bon Jovi on a helicopter..." Just because you got yerself an electric guitar to punish yer ma, and a 'band' and a lucky record deal, doesn't qualify you as a rock n' roller.

  • My suggestion is to find something worthwhile to rant about.

  • How about trolls who never offer anything constructive, only show up to criticize, ridicule, cajole, and to ashamed to leave a real name...why do think it called OFF TOPICS???

  • Its just like the music and movie awards. Nobody knows who the voters and judges are, nobody knows "how you get picked" its just a bunch of rich people throwing a big party and inviting the public to watch.

I know a lot of artists that should be in there and some that shouldn't but in the long run it don't matter because the whole thing is a joke. Its all about the great American dollar and how to make more of them.

  • uh. . . .sorry 'bout yer bad luck bub. Rockn'roll is dead. Evidence is the new generation is simply copying that of old and trying to improve on it. Can you say "Pat Boone"? Yes. Today's rock is a bunch of Pat Boone wanna be's. Pretty soon Perry Como will be considered in the "Rat Pack", just because he outlived them. Same for the Hall of Fame. It needs new blood, however weak to keep it moving or else it might go the way of the harpsichord.

    Sorry Chuck.

    Hail, hail rock'n'roll
Deliver me from the days of old
    Long live rock'n'roll
The beat of the drum is loud and bold
    Rock rock rock'n'roll
The feelin' is there body and soul

  • Really?? Pat Boone??? Boone was a 'pop' star, not a rock star. Although I respect Mr. Boone's politics and religious beliefs, he only did covers of rock songs -songs that were written and/or performed by others before. He never wrote much of anything, let alone rock n' roll. Yes he was popular in the 50's second to only Elvis, but, mainly because white mainstream American parents wouldn't allow their kids to listen to the black artists' original versions.

  • You are correct. My reference to Pat Boone was the fact that all he did was copy and make milk toast with pretty much everything he did. Current artist are just a modern version of Pat Boone with all the remakes.
