  • SS increase
  • Both my wife and myself got our SS notice for the coming year.
Good news, as reported we did get an increase in our monthly payments.
Not so good news, our medicare medical insurance and Medicare Prescription premiums increased. Net gain: about a whopping $16.00.
I'm booking our next cruise with this additional money, however we'll have to save this increase for about 10 years before we can board the ship.

  • I figure the SS increase not worth paying attention to, unless you like to increase the blood pressure.

  • Last year: because of medical increases my wife lost $4 and I lost $8.
This year: because of medical increases my wife lost $9 and I GAINED $3.
Huh? Must be that modern math!

  • Yep, a whopping 2% increase. Now I can buy that Cadillac. Remember last year there was no increase and they said it was because oil/gas had decreased by so much recipients now had extra $$$ to spend on other things. Really? Yet medical expenses increased and/or were dumped. If true, then why during those years of $4 -$5 per gallon gas prices we didn't see a significant increase? Oh, we did -.5%. Once the Federal Government has our money they will not give it back.
