  • My grandson has a Mazda [2010-2011?] and a few years ago he stopped by on his way to their wedding practice to quickly change a headlight bulb. Like you said, remove the tire, remove the inner fender shield, reach your skinny little hand through that hole. He dropped the bulb and it is still rolling around down there in the fender somewhere! Fortunately the package had two bulbs in it, He got the next one in! All this in about 45 minutes, and still made it to rehearsal in time, barely!

  • Well I know you are not talking about tractors. Your owner manual tells you how to change the bulbs in your car or truck. It ain't that hard. I recall , I think the '74 Mazda, maybe, you needed to lift up the car and remove something, exhaust manifold?, to change spark plugs.

  • A friend of mine was sharing the other day that he had to have alternator replaced on his Dodge Dakota about an 04 or 05 model and it took all day for the shop to do it. Had to drain the antifreeze, remove the radiatior, core support and other stuff. He went on line and the book hours was 6-8. He was expecting close to a grand but cost him 460 including alternator.

Another friend told me today shop replaced alternator in his 04 tahoe and labor only 39.00.
