  • starter button revisited
  • 2N, 12 volt conversion.
Today, I tried to fix my no starter issue by epoxying a penny to the switch. No joy. Still no crank, although the starter button does seem to have normal travel again. Jumping the starter cranks the engine, jumping across the starter switch cranks the engine. Key switch has continuity. Battery is fully charged. All contacts are now bright and tight. I am beginning to think I have a bad starter switch. I'll probably bench test it tomorrow when I should have the entire day to myself.

  • Itís probably is the switch even thou your switch has continuity it wonít carry enough current.

  • YOU can short the starter switch to the tranmission cover with a screw driver. If it cranks the switch is bad.THERE should be a rubber boot on the terminal.
