  • Has any one tried this item that lets you watch tv and movies for free? My cable vision is over $100 and all we get is sports old movies and advertisements. Every
time it gets cloudy it goes off. Just trying to think of something better. I hate to but might have to go Direct TV. What ever happened to free tv with 3 channels and good family shows?

  • Direct does go for the short term deal, usually for one year. Not a problem but you do need to go back to the ATT store before the year is up and negotiate an extension. I do that as here the ATT net and phone are great and are included in the package. If you can't get them to cut a deal just say you are changing the account to your wifes name so to get the best price.

  • Free TV is still out there. Just get a digital antenna and a digital TV. You will get about 20 free channels. Thats what we do.

There is also a "smart TV" that is called ROKU where you stream TV off of the internet. There are free movies and all sorts of things.

Also if you get Amazon Prime, there are all sorts of free TV and movies too but you have to belong to Amazon Prime. It was $50 a year now probably $100 per year, but you get free shipping on all your Amazon purchases too.

  • My wife and I are splitting the $100 Amazon prime fee with our son. According to Amazon, they allow a primary user and one additional family member.

I have a beam antenna with a rotator and pickup "free" digital TV with about 15 channels in the Rochester, NY area. It is good for about 50 - 75 miles. I even pickup channels across the lake in Toronto.

  • Several times I've wished that I had not taken down my 40 foot tower with the Wingard rotary antenna. With only a 5 foot beam I could sometimes receive Cleveland, London, Ontario, Columbus, Ohio, Indianapolis, Chicago and some northern Michigan cities a bit fuzzy. A 10 beam would have been better.
