  • My Aunt gave me an LP record or this song, and I would listen to it for hours!
    The original end in "t the bottom of this mine lies One Hell Of a Man".
    Censors made him change to your version, cause that was a "BAD WORD" in those days!
    Wish I still had that original album, but it burned in a house fire in 1978 or so.

  • Jimmy Dean retired and lived out his life between Richmond and Williamsburg, VA. Had a really nice place on the James River. He liked to hang out at the local country store, just shooting the bull with locals and tourists who were there to tour the colonial plantations in the area. He would talk to anybody and was as down to earth as they come.
