  • A Beautiful Life
  • This recording is the beginning of the Hee Haw Gospel Quartet and the last performance of David "StringBean" Akeman. Later that evening after the show was recorded, StringBean and his wife were murdered at their home while being robbed. The murder was discovered by his close friend Louis "Grandpa" Jones the next day. The Quartet survived with StringBean's place being filled by Buck Owens. Tennessee Ernie didn't join the Quartet when it became a regular segment of the show. His position was filled by Kenny Price. Of all the performers of the Quartet, only Roy Clark survives. The expression on Tennessee Ernie's face at the end of this performance is priceless. He knew they had smoked it ! SoS

  • There are a lot of great musical videos on youtube. Listen to "Make my day" Clint Eastwood play the blues on piano.
