  • The world just got a bit quieter.
  • Had to put him down today. He nearly got to 14 years and hip dysplasia got the better of him. This is the Sable Shepard and was not suppose to be so prone to the debilitating hip problems and come to find out, not so.

  • Really sorry to hear that, Bruce. Every one we've lost over the years takes a piece with him or her. They are such a joy, though, we do it again.

  • My heart's with you there Bruce as we lost ours of 10 years back on February 10th and I loved that little gal like she was my own child - been nearly 3 months now and I'm still missing her every day that passes!

  • My heart goes out to you bruce. He looks like he was a best bud. A gooooood booooyyy.
14 years is a good long time. My best bud went in his sleep last week and he was 12. I always wished that dogs would live longer then people. Sorry for your loss.

  • Sorry for your loss Bruce. Over the 44 years since we have been married we have always had dogs and it was always just as hard to put them down. He looks like he was a beautiful boy and must have been a joy to you.

  • I'm very sorry Bruce. I know all too well how hard it must be for you guys. We just went thru that with one of our Cairns. It's hard, we know. Our condolences to you and your wife.

  • Yep. We have rescued 2 pups from the local animal shelter and they are just as loveable as our 2 akc field trial labs... I always have a hard time deciding if I want a new pup right away or wait a while. What do you guys think.

  • We have more then one dog at a time so the others make loosing one easier. But the other dogs also miss the old ones.
