  • Ford flathead V8 aircraft engine. Note the gear box and aluminum heads.

  • If you like old aircraft the place to visit is The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck NY.
    They do sell rides in a open bipe at their air shows. Also a lot of Nice old stuff to look at.
    Worth the visit.

  • Water pump in the head, so an early engine. Just like the one in my 33 Ford. I also had a newer engine in my hot rod, and a 24 stud motor in my 37 Ford hearse. It had the water pumps as part of the engine mounts.

  • I still have my 37 doodle Bug. The water pumps are part of the mounts and the outlets are in the center of the head.

  • The tag says it is a 1935. Also note the carb sits at a angle as the front of the engine was up higher in the front in vehicles.

  • The shaft on the front of the crank was probably for a tachometer drive.
