  • Snow
  • Or rather the lack of. Lube, oil, filter, new battery cables, polished up grounding areas on the starter, changed the hydraulic fluid and put chains on. And it rains.

  • Same situation here mthomas; N's all dressed up with nothing to plow. Unlike some, I enjoy moving snow, the more the better. But then again I'm only 72.

  • I used to enjoy moving snow, too. I enjoyed the challenge of getting a 6V system started in the cold and then clearing my driveway and extra parking areas. When I was done, I'd do a couple of neighbors. Then I'd drive the 850 across town (small town) to my mom's place and clear her driveway and the street area near the mailbox where the city plow always piled snow up so the mailman couldn't get to the box. Then on the way home if I saw some poor slob trying to shovel out a big driveway I'd stop and clear it for him/her in 2 or 3 passes then move on with a wave. Fun, fun, fun.

  • I've always liked snow. When we were kids, the ole man would chain up the rear wheels of the car and take my brother and I out on back country roads where we took turns skiing behind the car on an old set of wood skis. He drove like a maniac. The rope was long so you could go down in the ditch on one side, up out of the ditch and across the road and down into the ditch on the other side. It was wonder someone wasn't killed. Great fun though.

  • I have my 8N all ready to plow snow with over at the farm with my Dearborn Utility blade but hope I don't need to use it. I hate the snow, ice, and cold. We've had some snow since November, but not much over 3 inches and it melted away in less than a week. Last year by this time I was plowing 4-8 inches very week from NOV til DEC. and a few times twice a week. I did not use my 8N at all, just a TORO snowblower an did half the neighborhood too.
