  • My girl friend and my younger sister will be over for the day. I'll cook a beef roast and some veggies in the crock pot for dinner. Got a case of ale in the fridge and we will exchange gifts and watch movies. Should be a nice relaxing day. No snow but thats ok by me.

  • Welcoming a brand new granddaughter home from the hospital. Born 12/22. Probably spend the rest of the day just looking at her.

  • We go to my wife's nephew's house every Christmas Eve for a pot luck. His dad, my wife's brother, sisters and cousins, our family and grandkids. Quite a house full though this year they bought a bigger house so it gets it's initiation.
Normally there is no gift exchange except for grandparents to the "little" kids. At 18 they are adults.
My wife and I are making a bit of an exception this year. We spent about 3 weeks accumuating about 700 old negatives of her family, grandparents and great-grandparents and loading them onto a Sandisk. Then, I made copies to give to the cousins. Also there were some pictures that I had copied and a WW2 military news paper from March, 1944 that an uncle had. The original I donated to the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run in his honor.
    Merry Christmas to all.

  • Merry Christmas to all.

We are staying home this year. Just a few of the family will be getting together.
We have a couple church services to attend. That will be nice.

Here is hoping you all have a great time.

  • New plan on the Island this year. The power went off during a big wind storm on Friday. Trees and power lines down all over. So most of my Island will be in the dark for Christmas. My plan you ask. We are doing Christmas at the other place on the main land. Have it all lit up, with a real tree. Start cooking tomorrow, and have 12 friends here on Christmas day.
    Merry Christmas to everyone.

  • Sounds like a great day, Dan.

My daughter is in from Birmingham, her mother & I will spend the day with her eating smoked turkey & ham(& exchange a few gifts). No snow here either(as usual), but we might get a little rain.

Heading to the farm the day after for a couple of a little tractoring & shooting.
