  • A Red Tiger I'd like to own
  • Unfortunately, finances and my 6'6" frame won't allow it.

  • In high school my best friend had a 196? Sunbeam tiger, red just like that one, the little 289 v-8 really screamed in that tiny car. I think he sold it a few years later for $300.00 bucks. OUCH!

  • We have a black Tiger, and a black Alpine on my Island. I know both owners. They are not big guys. I heard that John Wayne bought an early T Bird and parked it after about 20 miles. That car would fetch a good price. The 289 is a good motor for a car that size. Wonder how it would run alongside a 6 cylinder Healey.
A newer version would be the Daimler sports car with a V8, by Rover I think.

  • I don't think a fat 6'1 will fit either, but it would be fun. In my younger days I squeezed into a Fiat X1/9. I figured my real fun might be hampered a bit by my legs pushing on the steering wheel.
At 6'6" you would fit into the 85, 86 Toyota MR2. Those can be fun. In '87 the suspension got redesigned and softened up a bit to give it body lean.
I ran my '86 through a damp, 50 MPH posted speed, flat curve at 105.
The Honda that was chasing was so far behind me coming out the other side, I never saw it again. That was only about 20/23 years ago. The Honda was lowered and had some nice wide tires on it and he might have spun out if he tried to stay up. oops.
Top speed for that toy was only about 124 and I never did try that.
