  • Does anyone know if ford made special order off set tractors with select o speed trans. from a custom order request ??? I have one and it looks like a factory installation on the inching peddle cross linkage and guards

  • I've never seen SOS in an Offset model. Or a 5 speed. Its possible one could have been special ordered. Member Gaspump would be the one to know. Maybe he will chime in. SoS.

  • Yes, the SOS was an option on any Ford Tractor of the time. I have seen just a few in the 01 series but they were more likely to be seen in the 000 series offsets. The offsets were intended to compete with the very popular Farmall A's so cost was an issue. The offsets came out just as the Farmall offsets were dying out, sales were much less than hoped for.

  • Would the 5xx tractors have the 134ci engine or the 172ci?

    Thanks!

  • Data shows three options for the 5xx Series: 134 CID gasoline; LP Gas; or 144 CID diesel. The 172 CID Red Tiger wasn't released until the 800 Series.
