  • Last Ford going bye bye
  • With mixed emotions the time has come. I have been debating going modern for at least 5 years, finally decided to do so. I bought a brand new Massey Ferguson 2760 e with front wheel assist and front loader. This means some of the old stuff has to go. My last remaining Ford, a 2N has went to the auction with two other tractors and (6) 20 foot trailer loads of implements. Yes, it is time to also clean up around the farm. This will only leave me with 5 old tractors and one new one. Somehow I will manage. Anyway, if your'e interested, I will attach a link to the auction page. This is a consignment auction for machinery that kicks off my local club show and the club does get some of the total sales. There are 100 wagons and buggies for ponies if anyone is interested.

  • Been a long time Rocky since we last communicated (you'd just completed your new barn as I recall), but I too am now facing the same situation, that being that I simply have to downsize significantly the tractor herd. Head'n towards 75 in just over three months, I'm finding it somewhat difficult to mount & dismount the fleet, particularly the classic row crop models I've collected, 'cause the leg muscles are getting pretty weak nowadays - too much ladder climbing in my former career as a firefighter, ha!

Take care and I wish you well,

  • Rocky,
You get both my congratulations and condolences.
I suspect we will all go modern at some point. Either a new tractor or a new coffin.
    Good luck with the sale.
By the way, do they even sell used coffins?

  • I remember seeing an ad on facebook about a coffin that had been down once for three years and the family had decided to go a different route so it was for sale. That one I'm pretty sure was a joke and I just did a google search for used coffin for sale to find it. I did not find the joke but rather pages and pages of used coffins for sale. Most appear Chinese made. Perhaps used for a viewing then the body cremated????? weird
