  • Knee chop
  • Well, the Dr is chopping the left knee today. Overnight in the hosp due to a pulmonary embolism I had a few years ago from cancer and should be home on Dec 24th sometime after noon.
Then I get to play with titanium toy for the next few weeks.
Physical Therapy on Jan 3rd, the first time.
Twice a week after that until the figure they have bled enough money out of me. . .

  • Re: Knee chop
  • Had both knees replaced under one anesthetic back in 2004. Hydrocodone had me hallucinating very badly! Other than that the therapy was rough but worth it. I can kneel on both knees and have nearly the range of motion I had as a kid. Best advice I can give is to push the therapy! Worth it!

    Good Luck,

  • I thank you good people for your warm wishes and advice.
Well, the knee chop was on the 23rd and here it is the evening of the 27th. I can just about bend it 90 degrees and that is a bit soon considering the stitches are still in.
Pain is fun. The stomach does not like Excedrin mixed with Percoset or the
hydro-cordone. Being addicted to opioids probably will not be a problem with me.
So the (L) knee is after the cancer surgery, after the toe amputation, after the back surgery, after the foot surgery.
Interesting enough is the right knee has not made a peep of pain since the left one got evicted.
    Think it got the message?
Hope the healing process comes soon enough, I have too many projects in the fire and the completion date is getting closer every day.
